Ganesha, also known as Ganapati, Vinayaka, or by numerous other names, is one of the most worshipped deities in the Hindu pantheon. Ganesha is widely revered as the remover of obstacles, the patron of arts and sciences and the deva of intellect and wisdom. Thus, on this auspicious occasion of ‘Ganesh Chaturdashi’ Kalakriti brings a two-man show of paintings and sculptures by artist, Om Swami and SivaBalan 'Sidhivinayak', showcasing Ganesha series.
Om Swami is a Mumbai-based artist who studied at Raheja College. He is a self-taught artist whose works are renowned for their fluidity and the movements of its subjects. Om’s paintings showcase human emotions like love and sensuality with bold, thick strokes thus evoking a deep emotional response in the viewer.
Sivabalan paintings & art is steeped in India’s rich culture paintings Grown in Kumbakonam, a town known for Cholas temples and lush green fields, he developed an interest towards arts from his early years. He has a Masters Degree of Fine Arts from Government College of Fine Arts, Kumbakonam. Though he predominantly works with watercolour medium, he has a special place for his oil paintings and sculptures as well.
