Avijit Dutta has been exhibiting his works at various national and international galleries, art events from the year 1996. He received Best work in watercolour 1995-1996 from the Academy of Fine Arts (Visual Arts). In1996 and 1997 he received awards and certificates of merit, from Rabindra Bharati University. He has been invited to various international and national art camps and workshops and has participated in many important projects, a selected few are-
2018- He was invited by Gallerie Ganesha to exhibit his solo show titled “ ENSOUL..“at India art fair, New Delhi.
He was invited by KalaKriti Art Gallery in a group show at India art fair, New Delhi.
He was invited to participate in ALWAYS ROOM FOR LOVE’ a group show at Art Centrix, NewDelhi.
He was invited to participate in ‘Mapping Frontiers’ a group show curated by Lina Vincent Sunish (part of Krishnakriti festival) at kalakriti
Art Gallery . Hyderabad.
2017 – He was invited to participate in a group show at Art alive gallery, New Delhi, titled, ART NOW’17
He was invited to participate in ‘Souls of Wide Walls’ (Group Exhibition) at Kalakriti art gallery , Hyderabad.
ICA and Art 18|21 (Norwich) gallery presented his solo exhibition titled,” My Private museum“ at India art fair, New Delhi.
2016 -Solo show, ‘Life is a Deck of Cards’ at Kalakriti Art Gallery, Hyderabad.
He was invited by ICA and Art 18|21 (Norwich) gallery to exhibit his solo show titled “ rewriting history “at India art fair, New Delhi
2015-He was invited to participate in ‘INBOX’ a contemporary art exhibition held at Srishti Art Gallery, Hyderabad.
He was invited by Shaanxi Art Museum to participate in ‘SILK ROAD’ exhibition in Xian (China).
2014-He was awarded ‘Vice-Versa’ Residency Fellowship at the Shang Yuan Art Museum in Beijing, China, under the International artist exchange program.
He curated an art exhibition in 2014, ‘Lost in Transition’ (the forgotten art of letter writing) at The Harrington Street Arts Centre (Kolkata).
In the same year, he curated a show on watercolour with artists from India and China, titled ‘Tradition and Transition’ at Kalakriti Art Gallery, Hyderabad.
2013- He was invited by Shun Art Gallery (Shanghai) for The International Artist Group Exhibition ‘Metamorphosis’. He was also invited to be a jury member for the International Biennale held in Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal.
2012 he participated in Art Basel Miami River Art Fair, Miami, USA.
2011, amongst his other important participation, he was invited for the workshop to demonstrate the use of watercolour on canvas in New Zealand and Greece. In the same year, he was invited to participate in a creative workshop to re-design auto-rickshaw at New Delhi.
2010-He conducted a workshop based on Indian ‘Guru-Shishya’ tradition at Angkorwat, Cambodia which was later exhibited as a travelling show in India.
2007 Lavanya, a solo show presented by Art positive gallery, curated by Dr. Alka Pande at Visual art gallery (India habitat centre)New Delhi .
