Sunil M Lohar

Born in 1983, Sunil completed his Bachelor’s degree in painting from MMK College of Arts & Crafts, Gulbarga in 2004, followed by a Master’s degree in the same from the University of Hyderabad in 2007.Ph.. D in Exact Humanities, IIIT Hyderabad in 2012.

Sunil’s canvas is set against the picturesque backdrop of lush green landscape, has reference from Indian miniature paintings. His works have dozens of witty sayings used in day to day lives with lots of figures heavily engaged in actions.

‘Labyrinth’ was his first solo at Kalakriti Art Gallery, Hyderabad in 2008. Sunil has also exhibited in select platforms. The artist was represented by Kalakriti at the gallery booth at India Art Fair 2012, New Delhi. In 2007, Sunil won the Bodhi Art Award, Mumbai and the National Scholarship, New Delhi during 2005-2007.
