An Interlude by A. Rajeswara Rao

The exhibition ‘Desire – Us’ brings together a series of recent artworks by artist, A. Rajeswara Rao well termed as an interlude in his art practices wherein he works with his usual fervor of a restless aficionado dealing with tradition and modernity to create works that tackle artistry, and gamut of work has been deeply rooted in the Indian social cultural grid


Rajeshwara Rao

Rajeshwara Rao’s art work celebrates the maze of people around him. It draws from the impact that media has on the society and the individuals aspirations. He records the lives of people based on observation with a photographic accuracy. His representations are witty and humorous. He holds a Bachelors in Fine Arts from Andhra Pradesh University, 1983 and Masters in Fine Arts from Sarojini Naidu School of Art, Hyderabad in 1990. He has been awarded several honors such as the National Scholarship, Government of India, 1992 and Senior Fellowship, Government of India, 2005. He has participated in several solo and group shows. He lives and works in Hyderabad
