Born in 1960 in Vizianagaram, Rajeshwara Rao completed his BFA from Andhra University, Vizag, in 1983; and MFA from Hyderabad Central University in 1990. He received the National Scholarship, Junior Fellowship and the Senior Fellowship by the Government of India; and Camlin Award from Camlin Art Foundation, Bangalore. Rao’s solo works include those at Sakshi Gallery, Bangalore & Mumbai; Gallery Espace, New Delhi; Kalakriti Art Gallery, Hyderabad & Forum Art Gallery, Chennai. He has participated in several group shows, of which the most recent include those held at Gallery One, Gurgaon; Art Alive Gallery, New Delhi; Gallery Espace, New Delhi, in 2008 and 2002; ‘The Deccan Connections’ at Apparao Art Gallery, New Delhi, in 2002; ‘The Human Factor’ at the Guild Gallery, Mumbai, in 2001; and ‘Human Form and Art’ at Lalit Kala Akademi, in 2000.
Rao’s participation also includes Art Summit 2009 presented by Art Alive Gallery, New Delhi; and Art Expo, Mumbai, and India Art Fair 2012 both represented by Kalakriti Art Gallery, Hyderabad. His works are part of Several Individual and Institutional collections in India and abroad.
